Totally over that last post, now
Yeah, so, I got over it. Annoying that I didn’t go out, but wasn’t allowed home either, but anyway.

They were re-born from the ashes of Radio Hampshire on 107.8fm and 107.2fm in Winchester and Southampton. They started life as PlayRadioUK – a group of about 10 online-only radio stations. When Radio Hampshire went under at the end of May 2009, they took over the licence and basically relaunched their biggest station ‘PlayOne’ as Play Radio on July 4th.
Last week I noticed their midnight-6am slot was automated, so decided to drop them an email cheekily asking them if they wanted to give me the slot for a week, so I could get much needed experience to get into the industry properly. As they were a new station, I thought it would be more likely to happen, compared to a big station, such as Galaxy, owned by Global, who have around 50 stations in their portfolio. And if not, any chance of any work to help me gain at least some experience.
They couldn’t give me the late night slot. But did say that I was more than welcome to phone up each week and see if there was any thing anyone needed help with, and get involved wherever I can/wanted.
As it stands, I am possibly helping out with “Saturday Sport with Adrian Scott” between 2-6pm, and have told them I can be free on Wednesday or Thursday, and they will get back to me if they want me.
It’s a start. And combined with my weekly show on Radio Sonar, it will look good on my CV!
