I had quite an experience today.
Two, actually, to name but.. well, two.
Firstly, [Oh I just remembered a 3rd] I did something my step-father has been telling me to do since October 2007. It wasn’t the first time I’ve done it, however, but I built on the little experience I had.
Get on with it, bitch, I hear you say!
I spent time socialising with my course friends. Something I don’t normally do out of lesson time. I quite enjoyed myself, which is where experience number two comes in.
I played on a PS3! It wasn’t particularly at the top of my MUST DO BEFORE THE PS4 COMES OUT list, but nevertheless, it happened. I played the first half of a FIFA08 match between Barcelona and erm, well, another team.
We then went off to the other end of Southampton [We were in London Rd, and walked to Oxford St.] to do all of 15 minutes filming, before 2 of the 5 of us walked back to the Halls, which were literally 5 minutes round the corner, and the other two bumped into a fellow housemate and offered them a lift home. So I was left alone. I was pointed towards a bus stop, but couldn’t find it, I then walked for what seemed like AGES [10 minutes max] to a bus stop which had “UniLink!” written on the sign. I waited for what seemed like AGES [10 minutes max] until a bus arrived.
It’s weird, isn’t it, you can pretty much guarantee 1000% that it’ll be okay, yet, you always worry about getting on a bus. I mean, in year seven, I used to get a bus twice a day every week day during the three terms. And I loved it, I wanted to become a bus driver. Then I moved to Southampton and my mum gave us lifts for 2 years, before we actually remembered we had legs [And she changed jobs and couldn't give us lifts anymore] and we walked. The only time I used a bus while at Toynbee was when Lee broke his ankle and I had to get a bus to/from home with him. And London buses are completely different to Hampshire buses.
To end this waffle, it’s been a good 3 or 4 years since I last got on a bus. And this time, I was alone in the world.
Actually, while I’m still on [or near] this rant, I think that the Uni Link bus should be affiliated with Southampton Solent University, too, not just the posh twits [twats] at the University of Southampton. I like the idea of set price, any distance though, because that’s how the London buses work [or did, when I rode them]
…Emily has just shouted “Oh Fuck Faces!!” [She's cooking dinner] So I should probably go find out what she’s burnt. It best not be the Smiley Faces…
